Three Chairs

Three Chairs

Support is essential for any successful application.  Support comes in many forms and in many areas.  Where am I going with this topic you may be asking yourself right now?  Great question.  The direction I’m heading in is the success we are all looking for at Barix Clinics; a healthier weight and life!  Yes, I’m talking about success through the bariatric process.

Now you’re asking where do three chairs come from then?  Even better question.  As you all know when we meet for the first time I always mention support and that there are always three chairs in every room you enter.  Why do we have three chairs in every room?  Storage?  Someone ordered too many?  No, the main reason is to make sure this new journey in your life; fraught with fear, anxiety and uncertainty, is supported from all aspects.

We also discuss during my first meeting the ideas of three concept or ideas for the weight loss process (get the theme, seems to be three!).  Well, the three ideas are the basis for your new life; nutrition, exercise, and surgery or even the idea of surgery.  Having three chairs in every room allows you, your home support (friends or family), and the program support to be ever present.

Many journals have published the success potential patients have can obtain by attending support group discussions and the ideals developed through patients experiences.  New literature published shows that the continued support beyond the group sessions, prove to be as or even more valuable.  Friends and family extend well beyond the doors at Barix.  Where our education and monthly sessions end the home process begins.

The overall hope and dream for us all is that the diet and exercise continue beyond our hour meetings and invade every aspect of your life and your friends and family for the positive benefit to all.  This is where the support factor becomes the most important aspect of your success.  Life truly begins at home and beyond our positive reinforcement true success is defined by how you respond to adversity outside the walls of Barix.

This is the idea of the three chairs.  Chair number one is always you!  This process is all about you and the goals you set day one.  Chair number two is us and the endless support we offer towards those goals.  Chair number three is everyone or everything else including but not limited to family, friends, and support groups.  We will always offer the availability of that third chair whether you want it filled or not.

The key to success is based on our three ideas; your goals, dreams and desires for that better life, and continued support of whoever fills that third chair for you!  Good luck, keep doing well and fighting hard for every pound, inch and mile of your success.
