Food in the Spotlight: Halo Top Ice Cream

Ice cream is a favorite snack for many but unfortunately traditional ice cream is loaded with saturated fat and sugar. If you love ice cream, check out Halo Top Ice Cream’s chocolate and vanilla bean flavors. It is low in fat and sugar, and is a good source of protein and fiber. Halo Top Ice Cream is great for adding a little sweet to any dish. We recommend cutting the recommended serving of 1/2 cup as each serving includes 4 grams of sugar. A 1/4 cup serving is only 30 calories and provides 2.5 grams fiber and 6 grams protein. Add to a fresh bowl of fruit or a smoothie to give your taste buds a sweet kick! Just remember to eat in small amounts as large amounts of added sugar (more than 2 grams sugar) to avoid dumping syndrome.
