Change 6: Limit Sodium

To minimize your risk of kidney stones:

Watch sodium intake. Sodium causes the kidneys to excrete more calcium into the urine. Keep in mind that most sodium doesn’t come from the salt shaker, but from processed foods.  Limit sodium to 2300 mg a day or less.
